Regional Cancer Care Associates (RCCA), New Jersey's largest oncology physician network, is pleased to announce the appointment of Andre Goy, M.D., M.S. as Chief Science Officer and Director of Research and Innovation. Dr. Goy will continue to serve as Chairman and Executive Director at John Theurer Cancer Center at HackensackUMC, one of the 50 best hospitals for cancer and RCCA's Hackensack location. In this new role, Dr. Goy will bring cutting-edge research and clinical trials to RCCA locations, giving patients access to novel therapies in local communities across New Jersey.

"Dr. Goy has been instrumental in elevating John Theurer Cancer Center's research program to become one of the largest, most active in the nation," said Andrew L. Pecora, M.D., F.A.C.P., C.P.E., President of RCCA. "Under Dr. Goy's leadership, patients throughout New Jersey will have the opportunity to access cutting-edge clinical trials and, in turn, John Theurer Cancer Center's nationally-recognized research progrm will be able to provide greater contributions to cancer research."



Dr. Goy will be responsible for developing strategies that will integrate research throughout the RCCA network, which includes 92 cancer care specialists at 25 care delivery sites, providing care to more than 230,000 patients. He will focus on novel therapies and biomarker-driven research, a targeted approach to determining how likely a patient may respond to a specific treatment.

"Our goal is to ensure that clinical trials are always considered in every step of the treatment decision and that clinical trial participation is made available to our patients closer to their home."


Dr. Goy is an internationally renowned clinician and researcher. Since joining John Theurer Cancer Center, Dr. Goy has spearheaded the development of its Tissue Bank and led New Jersey's largest program for lymphoma. He has supported the growth of the research program, which now includes more than 200 clinical trials across 14 cancer divisions and includes Phase I, II and III protocols. Dr. Goy has trained at the world's leading medical institutions, including Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Assistance Publique in Paris (the largest university hospital system in Europe) and The Pasteur Institute, also in Paris.
