BRIEF: Facebook, Twitter abuzz with U-verse outage complaints [Sun Sentinel]

(South Florida Sun Sentinel (FL) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Jan. 22--AT&T U-verse customers in South Florida and several other states took to social media to vent about service outages that apparently have been plaguing the carrier since Monday.

While their service was off-line, many customers went online via Facebook and Twitter to lament loss of their high-speed Internet, digital TV and home phone services, some reporting long wait times on the phone with AT&T customer service that netted little to no explanation or resolution.

Officially, an AT&T spokeswoman released the following statement and nothing more: "A limited number of AT&T customers in some markets may be experiencing issues with U-verse service.
