Warrant issued for suspect in Bladen County bank robberyJan 22, 2013 (The Fayetteville Observer - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- ELIZABETHTOWN -- A warrant has been issued for a Bladen County man accused of robbing a bank in Elizabethtown on Friday, authorities said today. Aaron Montrice McDowell, 27, whose last known address is 48 Buck Lane in White Oak, has been identified as the man who robbed the First Citizens Bank on West Broad Street, said Chief Bobby Kinlaw of the Elizabethtown Police Department. A warrant for robbery with a dangerous weapon has been issued for McDowell, Kinlaw said. McDowell is accused of going into the bank about 9:20 a.m. and handing a note demanding money to a teller, Kinlaw said today . McDowell left the bank carrying an undisclosed amount of money in a black duffel bag, Kinlaw said. The Fayetteville Police Department's Emergency Response Team was called to execute a search warrant Friday evening at the Buck Lane residence, Kinlaw said. That is the last known address for McDowell, Kinlaw said. Police are still trying to determine whether a bomb threat that was phoned into Elizabethtown Primary School at 9:07 a.m. Friday was linked to the robbery, Kinlaw said. The school was evacuated and students were taken to the National Guard Armory about a mile away, Kinlaw said. The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad was called to search the school, Kinlaw said. Nothing was found and students were allowed to return to the school about 11:15 a.m., he said.
