Jan 21, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Devon IT announced that it has achieved compatibility with processors running the ARM Cortex A8 high-performance processors.

In a release, the Company noted that Cortex-A8 processors are designed to meet the needs of markets requiring high performance with power-efficiency, often integrating web connectivity.

Companies offering devices with Cortex A8 processors include Texas Instruments, Samsung, Freescale, and Broadcom.

"DeTOS is the most flexible and advanced thin client OS available, and is built with specific customer feedback and requirements from some of the most advanced users partners in the world," said Joe Makoid, President Devon IT. "Extending DeTOS to support a wide array of ARM devices provides a cohesive solution to embedded devices that need superior performance ease of management, configurations, and system updates." "The ARM System-on-a Chip architecture has the best MIPS to dollars ratio in the industry and all the necessary computing capability coupled with a very attractive price point," said Ian Geiser, CTO, Devon IT. "SoC designs consume less power with a higher reliability at a lower cost point than the multi-chip systems. Devon IT's DeTOS strongly supports embedded processing and we look forward to bringing to market exciting new devices based on the ARM SoC architecture."
