Hughes Network receives four year satellite services contract from NETCJan 18, 2013 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Hughes Network Systems, LLC, a provider of broadband satellite solutions and services, has received a four year contract from the New England Telehealth Consortium, or NETC, to provide satellite services for mobile telehealth clinics throughout rural communities in Northern New England. Under the contract, Hughes will supply its high-performance routers which are integrated with AvL Technologies' auto-deploy antenna, enabling video conferencing, prescription dispensing, voice calls, transfer of Electronic Health Records, viewing of digital images, telemedicine, and digital messaging. This transportable solution can be set up rapidly and automatically establishes connectivity with the Hughes SPACEWAY 3 broadband satellite throughout the NETC service area, harnessing the power of its on-board switching and spot beam technology. ProInfoNet, an independent telecommunications and computer consulting firm, was selected by NETC to manage the implementation and is working together with Hughes and AvL to deliver the telehealth network.
