DistribuTECH(R) 2013 New Product Overview for Continental Control Systems

Boulder, Colo., Jan 15, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Continental Control Systems at DistribuTECH(R) 2013 Featured Product Highlights: WattNode(R) Electric Power Meters -- Now With a Revenue-Grade Option At DistribuTECH(R) 2013, Continental Control Systems will be featuring its new line of revenue-grade electric power meters, the WattNode(R) Revenue. These meters are designed for use in applications requiring revenue-grade accuracy. The WattNode Revenue meters meet the accuracy requirements of ANSI C12.1 and C12.20 Class 0.5, and support Modbus(R), BACnet(R), or LonTalk(R) communications protocol or a pulse output. This compact, cost-effective energy and power metering solution complements the company's complete line of high-accuracy, revenue-grade current transformers, which will also debut at DistribuTECH.

All WattNode energy meters provide line-powered single and three phase, wye, or delta configurations up to 600 Vac and loads to 6000 Amps. The newest member of the family, the WattNode BACnet meter, supports full self-discovery of the meter and all of its objects, offering more than 50 electric power-related measurements, 64 addresses, and selectable baud rates of up to 76.8K.

The WattNode Revenue meters support all the major BAS communication protocols, meet the accuracy requirements of ANSI C12.1 and C12.20 Class 0.5, and are designed for 120/208/240 Vac or 277/480 Vac applications. Each meter is calibrated using NIST-traceable equipment, following the procedures specified by the ANSI C12 metering standards, and is supplied with a certificate of calibration. In addition to revenue-grade, bidirectional energy (kWh) metering, the networkable WattNode Revenue meters provide dozens of additional measurements: bidirectional power, demand, peak demand, reactive power, voltage, current, power factor, and line frequency.

The CTL and CTBL current transformers provide IEEE C57.13 Class 0.6 or 1.2 revenue-grade accuracies together with a UL listing for energy management equipment, in accordance with UL 916 and CSA C22.2 No. 610010-1. The result is current transformers for use on loads up 6000A that combine the ease of installation of an opening current transformer with the accuracy normally associated with solid-core current transformers. With their 333.33mVac output, they are an ideal companion to the WattNode Revenue meter for revenue-grade electric power metering applications.

The CTL current transformers have a 1.25-inch opening and the CTBL have various opening sizes of up to 12 inches.

Company Quote: "We look forward to highlighting our new line of revenue-grade WattNode meters at DistribuTECH this year. Our new electric power meters leverage all the features, benefits and cost-effectiveness of our flagship WattNode range with ANSI C12.20 accuracy compliance with BACnet, LonWorks, or Modbus communications protocols. To complement the new meters we will also debut a complete line of revenue-grade, split-core current transformers at the show." a"EUR Cynthia A. Boyd, director of sales at Continental Control Systems About Continental Control Systems Founded in 1995, Colorado-based Continental Control Systems specializes in electric power metering and monitoring equipment. The company's solutions are designed to provide key electrical system measurements including power (kW) and energy (kWh) through a variety of communication protocols including BACnet(R), Modbus(R), and LonWorks(R), or as pulse outputs. Applications for the WattNode(R) meter and Accu-CT(TM) current transformers include building automation, LEED certification, tenant submetering, performance verification/evaluation/diagnostics, net metering, and energy management.
