CareView Communications, Inc. Announces Execution of Pilot Agreements with Two Universal Health Services, Inc. Hospitals

LEWISVILLE, Texas --(Business Wire)--

CareView Communications, Inc. ("CareView" or the "Company") (OTCQB: CRVW), an information technology provider to the healthcare industry, announced today the execution of pilot agreements with Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center ("Spring Valley Hospital"), a 231-bed hospital, and Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center ("Desert Springs Hospital"), a 293-bed hospital, which comprise two of five Las Vegas hospitals owned by Universal Health Services, Inc. ("UHS").

The pilot agreements are for a three-month period with an extension clause for an additional thirty day period. Under the pilot agreements with these UHS hospitals, CareView agrees to install its CareView System® products and services including the SecureView®, PhysicianView®, NurseView®, SitterView, GuestView, BedView, Virtual Bed Rails®, and Virtual Chair Rails modules and the Fall Management Program (as described below). Both hospitals agree to specifically measure (i) the number of patient falls comparing those beds using the CareView System products and services and those not, (ii) the reduction in sitter costs and (iii) the impact on patient satisfaction.

"As with our other successful pilot programs, we are confident that the pilots with Spring Valley Hospital and Desert Springs Hospital will also prove successful and will lead to a significant deployment as early as the second quarter of 2013. We know that the UHS hospital group takes great pride in the superior care given to their patients and we look forward to playing a vital role in their continued quest for excellence. Our CareView System products and services will allow UHS hospitals to manage their patients and hospital beds more effectively while promoting their commitment to patient safety and satisfaction," stated Samuel A. Greco, CareView's Chief Executive Officer.

CareView System Modules

SecureView monitors and records bedside activity in the patient's room. All privacy and access options are determined and configured by the hospital.

PhysicianView enables the admitting physicians and non-physician staff members t view their patients from any personal computer. All privacy and access options are determined by the hospital.

NurseView allows authorized users to view monitored rooms from the nursing station or mobile device. All privacy and access options are determined and configured by the hospital.

SitterView allows a primary and secondary sitter to monitor multiple patients using a touch screen mobile device.

GuestView offers a suite of services including access to movies and the Internet and virtual visits from family and friends.

BedView provides a real-time digitized overview, both on stationary and mobile monitors, of the status of all hospital beds to provide better patient placement and prevent overcrowding. Patient flow is important to the efficiency of any hospital from quickly admitting a patient in the correct bed to a quicker patient discharge and bed turnover.

Virtual Bed Rails allow the hospital to activate a safety module that will notify the nursing station when a patient exits a defined area in the patient bed.

Virtual Chair Rails allow the hospital to activate a safety module that will notify the nursing station when a patient exits a defined area in the patient room chair.

Fall Management Program allows the hospital to separately file, identify and research the activity of patients for whom Virtual Bed Rails were engaged.
