BRIEF: U.S. Rep. Langevin to announce cyber contest winners


Jan 09, 2013 (The Providence Journal - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- WARWICK, R.I.- -- Congressman Jim Langevin (D-RI) will join representatives of McCabe Software of Cranston and New England Institute of Technology to present $2,500 in prizes to the top finishers of the annual Cyber Contest.



Langevin started the competition to help build an industry that can create jobs and maintain security against cyberspace threats.

More than 100 students, from eight schools participated in the third edition of the contest. They competed in timed quizzes to test their aptitude in the three most important foundational skills of effective cyber security: networking, operating systems, and system administration.


First place will be presented to a student at Exeter West Greenwich High School today at 10 a.m.

Second Place will be presented at East Greenwich High School today at 1:15PM Third place will be presented at Chariho Career and Technical Center Jan. 11, at 1:15 p.m.
