BRIEF: Expanded Greensboro recycling program starts Jan. 1GREENSBORO, Jan 04, 2013 (News & Record - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Greensboro residents will be able to put additional items in their brown recycling cans starting Jan. 1. New items that the city will accept are: --All plastics No. 1 through No. 7; this includes yogurt and dairy containers --Pizza boxes --Milk and juice cartons --Pots and pans The city currently accepts plastic bottles and jugs, glass jars and bottles, all aluminum, tin and steel cans, newspapers, magazines, junk mail, office/school/computer paper, cardboard, chipboard and hard plastics. The change is part of a new 5-year contract with ReCommunity, the company that handles Greensboro's recyclables.
