SkyCross Announces Corporate Growth Including New Headquarters, Expanded Capacity and Executive Hires
FREMONT, Calif. --(Business Wire)--
SkyCross,
a global designer and manufacturer of advanced antenna and RF solutions,
and industry leader in advanced tunable antenna technology for 4G LTE (News - Alert)
mobile devices, today announced the opening of new corporate
headquarters in Fremont, Calif., expansion of its manufacturing
capacity, and the appointment of two new executives, Warren H. Weiner as
chief financial officer and John Marshall as chief marketing officer.
SkyCross (News - Alert) has moved its corporate headquarters from Viera, Fla. to
Fremont, Calif., in order to be closer to Silicon Valley and its sales
and manufacturing facilities in Asia. SkyCross' Florida offices will
become an R&D facility and SkyCross' Greater China and Korea operations
will remain full design and manufacturing facilities.
In addition, SkyCross has increased its manufacturing capacity in both
of its factories in Greater China and Korea, augmenting its reliable
support of market-leading customers in their worldwide product launches.
In conjunction with this capacity increase, SkyCross now has full LDS
capability in both factories. The move comes amidst growing demand for
SkyCross' broad array of antenna solutions, including its advanced
antennas that are uniquely suited to serve the rapidly expanding LTE
market. Though 4G LTE communications traditionally requires multiple LTE
antennas, a single tunable SkyCross antenna can integrate multiple
signal feeds and behave like multiple antennas, eliminating cost and
space while preserving performance.
"SkyCross recently reached record revenues and our momentum continues to
grow," said Ben Naskar (News - Alert), CEO and chairman of SkyCross. "Our new
headquarters will allow us to better support our customers througout
the design and manufacturing process. We're excited about the
exceptional connectivity, 4G LTE speeds and design possibilities that
our high-performance, compact, affordable antenna solutions will enable
for the next generation of wireless devices."
To assist in managing the company's growth, SkyCross has named Warren H.
Weiner, an accomplished financial, operations and business development
executive with more than 30 years of telecommunications experience, as
chief financial officer. Previously, Weiner served as CFO of Paratek
Microwave, Inc., where he negotiated strategic relationships, initiated
cost-saving measures and led the company to its acquisition by Research
In Motion (NASDAQ:RIMM). Weiner has also spearheaded successful
acquisitions for several additional wireless solutions providers. He has
a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree in business
administration from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and
is a CPA.
To assist with the company's market and product strategy as it moves
into advanced communication solutions, SkyCross has appointed John
Marshall as chief marketing officer. Marshall has more than 15
years of experience in general management, strategy and marketing, and
is responsible for SkyCross' products, marketing and business
development for mobile and operator solutions worldwide. Prior to
SkyCross, he served as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for SiBEAM,
Inc., a consumer electronics and mobile technology company acquired by
Silicon Image (News - Alert) (NASDAQ:SIMG). Before SiBEAM, Marshall led marketing and
business development teams for 2Wire Inc., contributing to the company's
acquisition by Pace (PIC:LSE). He holds multiple U.S./international
patents, and earned a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and
a master's degree in business administration from the University of
Michigan.
In addition to its new headquarters, SkyCross maintains offices in
Viera, Fla; Suwon, Korea; Taoyuan, Taiwan; and Shenzhen and Shanghai,
China. The company has built a strong IP portfolio with more than 200
patents granted/pending, and more than 100 R&D/design engineers. With
scalable manufacturing capabilities in China and Korea, SkyCross
delivers more than 125 million antennas per year.
