Aero Telemetry's Spruce Goose, Featured in The Aviator, to Appear at AMA Expo, January 11-13, Ontario Convention CenterOntario, CA, Dec 28, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Scale models of Hollywood proportion are scheduled to be shown at this year's AMA Expo, the countty's premier aeromodeling exposition, hosted by the Academy of Model Aeronautics January 11-13, at the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario, CA. Jock Bock, AMA member and founder of Aero Telemetry, will display the company's giant flying model of Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose, much like the model built by Aero Telemetry's team for the movie The Aviator (2004). The model was first built by the Aero Telemetry aerial effects team to reenact the original flight of the Spruce Goose on November 2, 1947, for the movie, but is now being re-conceptualized with the latest in technology. The new model's construction has been featured on Aero Telemetry's Facebook page, and will be on display for the public at the AMA Expo. Also on display will be a restored Allison V-1710 liquid-cooled V-12 piston engine that powered a World War II P-38 Lightning. Returning to the Expo is a 1/2-scale model H-1 Hughes Racer. Learn more.
