China UnionPay, ZTE Reach Partnership GloballyBEIJING, Dec 21, 2012 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- China UnionPay and ZTE Corporation (SZSE: 000063 and SEHK: 0763) signed an agreement for strategic cooperation on December 20. According to the agreement, the two sides will launch innovative cooperation globally in terms of mobile payment, smart TV payment and cloud computing, etc, and will jointly perfect innovative products and service system to improve service ability and standard. Relying on the network extending to 135 countries and regions abroad, China UnionPay is now constructing new payment channels on internet, mobile phone, fixed telephone, self-help terminal and smart TV and business system for innovative new products like financial IC card. ZTE, leading IPTV equipments for smart TV and mobile terminal supplier, is providing new innovative technologies and product solutions for telecom operators in more than 140 countries and regions around the world. ZTE is expected to launch mobile phones equipped with NFC (near field communication) payment functions and developed according to China UnionPay standards next year.
