Telco analyst finishes in frontDec 20, 2012 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Digby Gilmour of CLSA has been announced the winner for 2012 in the StarMine analysts awards. He is the head of stock research for the telco, internet and media sectors, and concedes that he was misguided in doubting the longevity of a rise in the shares of Telstra. However, overall he has beaten the benchmark by 26.1%, thanks to selections such as ISP iiNet. Its stock has gained 76%. Gilmour also warned clients not to hold shares in APN News & Media. For 2013 he recommends News Corporation, Prime Media Group and Telecom New Zealand.
