Genghis Grill installs E la Carte's Presto tablet tableside ordering and payment system

Odessa, Texas, Dec 20, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Dallas-based Genghis Grill Franchise Concepts LP is piloting 75 of E la Carte's Presto tablets this month in its Odessa, Texas location and plans to roll out to more locations in 2013. Using the Presto tablet, their guests can browse professional quality images of the entire menu, place orders, make payments, split checks, and play interactive games right from their table at any time, without having to wait.

Genghis Grill is known for being on the cutting-edge of technology with its creative use of social media and online marketing and this isn't the first tablet solution they have tried. "We're a fun, tech-savvy concept and our customers expect a smooth, seamless technology experience from us," said Ron Parikh, Chief Marketing Officer of Genghis Grill. "We switched to E la Carte because we believe that their Silicon Valley based MIT team will provide the reliable and unique experience for our guests that we've been searching for." The Presto tablets will also provide a much needed helping hand to the staff in Odessa. With a red hot labor market in the area, recruiting servers has been a challenge. "The Presto will allow us to serve more guests with the smaller group of staff that we have assembled. We are not just integrating technology into the guest experience, but we are empowering our staff to provide a higher quality of service," said Odessa Operator Partner, William Rodriguez.

Through the tablets, guests will also be able to sign up for Khan's Klub for a variety of rewards, including their free 'Birthday Bowl' promotion. Tablet integration with Genghis Grill's gift card is planned for next year.

Restaurant guest demand for a tablet solution has been increasing steadily. According to a recent National Restaurant Association study, more than half of consumers surveyed said they would use tableside electronic payment options at tableservice restaurants and another 44 percent said they would use a tableside ordering system. "Adding more consumer-facing technology options can be a way for a restaurant to differentiate itself from the competition," said Hudson Riehle, SVP of Research at the National Restaurant Association. "Technology in restaurants is becoming more of an expectation than a novelty." About E la Carte E la Carte is creating a restaurant revolution by updating restaurant tables with Presto touch-screen tablets, finally propelling restaurants into the Information Age. The company has raised millions in funding from the Founders of companies such as Groupon, Dropbox, Farmville, & Reddit; as well as Skip Sack, former Chairman of the National Restaurant Association.
