911 Enable Solutions Receives Compliance from Avaya

Dec 18, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- 911 Enable, a company focusing on E911 solutions for UC and IP telephony, has announced that its Emergency Routing Service (ERS) and Emergency Gateway (EGW) appliance are compliant with key unified communications and collaboration solutions from Avaya, a global provider of business collaboration and communication solutions.

According to the Company, the Emergency Routing Service (ERS) is a hosted E911 call routing service that connects organizations to over 6,000 Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) across the U.S. and Canada. It ensures that when 911 is dialed, both the call itself, along with the caller's automatic number information (ANI), are delivered to the appropriate PSAP. The ERS is now compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya IP Office 8.1. It is supported for use with both IP Office 500 and IP Office Server Edition.

The Emergency Gateway (EGW) is an on-site appliance that helps organizations automate E911 management for IP-PBX deployments. 911 Enable noted that its key functions include automatic IP phone tracking for hard phones, soft phones, and wireless phones, and on-site security notification. The EGW is now compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya Aura Communication Manager 6.2 and Avaya Aura Session Manager 6.2.

"We are proud to complete compliance testing of our E911 solutions with the latest Avaya technology," said Lev Deich, Director of 911 Enable. "One of the key benefits of achieving Avaya compliance is that it will allow our customers to fully leverage Avaya's flexible and innovative standards-based platforms, while ensuring they meet E911 regulations and keep employees safe." The Company added that it is a Technology Partner in the Avaya DevConnect program, an initiative to develop, market and sell third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company's investment in its network.

"911 Enable's Emergency Gateway appliance and Emergency Routing Service help Avaya customers large and small provide their users with critical E911 functionality," said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations, Avaya. "Their E911 solutions integrate seamlessly with the Avaya architecture for quick, cost-effective deployment."
