BRIEF: New apps available for Charlottesville-area Xfinity customers

Dec 17, 2012 (The Daily Progress - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Comcast this month introduced a new service available to Charlottesville-area Xfinity TV subscribers that enables customers to download content from the Internet directly to their smart phones and tablets.

Two apps are available for Xfinity TV digital customers, the Xfinity TV Player app, which allows customers to watch video on a mobile device, and the Xfinity TV app, which allows for the personalization and management of the TV viewing experience.

"Millions of smart phone and tablet users in the U.S. watch video on their mobile devices. With that in mind, Comcast is continuously innovating the TV experience and developing new features and tools that provide our customers with more options for how, when and where they watch content," said Charlie Herrin, senior vice president of product design and development at Comcast Cable.

Both apps can be downloaded for free on Google Play and Apple iTunes. For more information, visit xfintytv.comcast.net.
