BRIEF: Teradata exec named among top CTOs for 2012

Dec 17, 2012 (Dayton Daily News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Stephen Brobst, Teradata chief technology officer, has been named by an executive ranking service as a top U.S. chief technology officer for the year, the Miami Twp.-based company said.

ExecRank is a ranking service of executives from more than 30 professions.

The 2012 list places Brobst at No. 14 out of 15,000 U.S. CTOs. The list also includes CTOs from companies like eBay, Intel, Boeing and Lockheed Martin, Teradata said.

According to an ExecRank statement quoted by Teradata, the chief area of focus for top CTOs in 2012 has been "their role in developing defensible technologies for their companies, and leveraging those technologies to strengthen competitiveness." "At a time when big data analytics and integrated database technologies are at the very epicenter of business insight and value creation across the world, Stephen Brobst stands out as our highest-ranking voice for database-driven analytic intelligence and thought leadership," Dallas Bond, a lead analyst for ExecRank, said in a Teradata statement.

Teradata has some 450 Dayton-area employees.
