Watt Carmichael first Canadian wealth manager to deploy Windham asset allocation and risk management platform

TORONTO, Dec. 17, 2012, 2012 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX) -- Watt Carmichael Private Counsel Inc.

(WCPC) is pleased to announce that it will deploy the Windham Portfolio Advisor (WPA), a sophisticated asset allocation modeling and risk management software provided by Boston-based Windham Global Solutions, a division of Windham Capital Management, LLC. The WPA is used by asset managers worldwide, including a number of leading Canadian pension plans, for the construction of efficient portfolios. WCPC is the first Canadian wealth manager to deploy the platform.

The Chief Investment Officer of WCPC, Sean O'Hara, believes that this new relationship demonstrates the commitment the firm has to providing cutting edge asset allocation and risk management advice to its clients. "In today's highly volatile capital markets environment, portfolio managers are having to focus more of their attention and resources on risk management considerations. The effective communication of investment risk to clients has become critical," commented O'Hara.

"The relationship with Windham is tremendously exciting for us and a key strategic investment for our company," says WCPC's Chief Executive Officer, Martin Sims. WCPC offers global multi-asset class portfolios for high net worth individuals, family offices and smaller institutional clients. It provides a fully open-architecture investment platform and a fiduciary standard of care to its clients.

"We are equally excited to be developing new relationships in the Canadian marketplace, and we are committed to providing WCPC with the tools and resources that will help differentiate its investment offering in the highly competitive world of wealth management," said Tim Adler, Managing Partner and Director of Research and Technology for Windham.
