Western Digital introduces new desktop hard drive


Dec 05, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Western Digital Corporation, a provider of solutions for the collection, storage, management, protection and use of digital content, has introduced the new WD Black 4TB, 3.5-inch, 7200RPM hard drive.



WD Black hard drives combine 7200 RPM spin speed, 64 MB cache, dual stage actuator technology, SATA 6 gigabits per second (Gb/s) interface, and an integrated dual processor to deliver in a maximum-capacity drive.

WD Black 4 TB hard drives feature Dual processor, Dual actuator technology, IntelliSeek, StableTrac and NoTouch ramp load technology.


The WD Black 4 TB GB (model WD4001FAEX) hard drives are available through select distributors and resellers for $339.00, the company reported.
