BRIEF: Hood Soup Truck hits Harvard Square with free samples


SOUP'S ON, Nov 29, 2012 (Boston Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- in Harvard Square.

Today, the Soup Boutique, Inspired by Hood Cream, a touring food truck sampling chef-created soups featuring Hood Cream pulls into Cambridge to dish out samples of two soup selections -- one original recipe created by Grafton Street Pub and Grill chef Eric Gregory, and one classic Hood soup recipe prepared by chef Jonathan Dunn of Lavishly Dunn Catering.



The truck previously stopped in Harvard Square Tuesday, Dewey Square yesterday and Government Center Monday where it will make its final stop tomorrow before departing for downtown Portland, Maine, and downtown Providence, R.I., in the ensuing days Samples will be provided from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine. Fans can follow the truck on Facebook and on Twitter by using the hash tag #HoodSoupTruck for the chance to win a Hood Soup Boutique prize package each week of the tour.

The iconic New England dairy brand said it will donate one dollar to a local food bank in each city for every sample distributed, up to $10,000.
