Glut of lawyers reduces jobs lotNov 29, 2012 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A University of Canberra study has revealed that the quantity of legal work in Australia has declined. Despite the decline, the number of law graduates has increased by almost 100 per cent since 1986. Meanwhile, lawyers' salaries have risen by just 3.4 per cent since 2006. Professor Anne Daley says the modest salary increases may be a result of the growing willingness of law firms to employ part-time lawyers. The increase in the supply of lawyers has reduced the employment opportunities available to graduates.
