BRIEF: DJ's Sports Bar & Grill closesHESPERIA, Nov 29, 2012 (Daily Press - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- DJ's Sports Bar & Grill is closed -- at least for now, according to multiple sources. "It's closed for right now," an employee who answered the phone at the bar and wished to remain anonymous said Wednesday afternoon. "That's all I can say." The bar in the 12000 block of Mariposa Road, in the shopping center along Oakwood Avenue, was last open Monday, according to the employee. A phone message left for owner Diana Somers wasn't immediately returned. The sports bar opened to positive reviews in 2009, with pool tables, lots of TVs for game-watchers, a large patio and a rotation of entertainment. It garnered some positive attention in August 2011, when actor Cuba Gooding Jr. stopped by. However, crowds had already begun to dwindle before there was a fatal shooting in the bar's parking lot three months ago. "I finally achieve 1 of my dreams too have my name in a marquee for a club im dj'n @, only for it too be over," DJ Toro, who worked at the club, wrote on his Facebook page.
