Drummond Group Certifies 17 AS2 Secure Messaging ProductsAustin, TX, Nov 28, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Drummond Group Inc., the trusted leader in interoperability software testing, today announced the completion of its AS2-3Q12 automated interoperability test event in which 17 products are now Drummond Certified(TM). Twelve international companies participated, including Axway, CLEO, Dell Boomi, DiCentral Corporation, EXTOL International Inc., GXS, Hewlett-Packard Company, IBM, Liaison Technologies, /n software, SEEBURGER AG and TIBCO Software Inc. Introduced in AS2-1Q12, the SHA-2 (Secure Hashing Algorithm) Optional Test Profile now has two additional products supporting it, which brings the total to seven products. In addition, AS2-Restart for VLM and AS2 Reliability had an additional two products adding support for this important profile bringing the total to six products. As SHA-2 continues to gain support in the industry, Drummond Group expects that more AS2 products will be adding SHA-2 support in response. We see SHA-2 complementing SHA-1 which has been the default since the inception of AS2. In addition, there is a growing need for transferring messages with very large payloads (VLM) in AS2 and the AS2 Restart functionality makes these exchanges more efficient when network errors occur. Optional Test Profiles AS2 Optional Test Profiles build upon an existing technical standard because certain industries have additional requirements they need added to the AS2 standard and, therefore, to the AS2 Interoperability Test. The AS2 Optional Test Profiles are being added in stages to the AS2 standard or listed as "Informational Status" to the standard within IETF. Participation in these test profiles is optional. Making the Industry Test Profiles optional maintains the integrity of the existing standard while providing interested software companies, who sell into the respective vertical, the opportunity to certify their capabilities. Those software companies who do not sell into the vertical can opt out. The end result is a group of software products certified for compliance and interoperability of the AS2 standard as well as a sub-set of software products also certified for the Optional AS2 Test Profile(s).
