China Telecom-customized iPhone5 Said to be Launched Mid DecBEIJING, Nov 28, 2012 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- An insider with China Telecom Corporation Limited (SEHK: 0728 and NYSE:CHA) disclosed on November 26 that China Telecom-customized iPhone5 would be launched in mainland China in mid December. The contractual price is initially set at CNY 5,780. The product is now open to reservation in Suning and GOME outlets in Guangdong. Compared with the high-profile market campaign launched by China Telecom, China Unicom (Hong Kong) Ltd. (NYSE: CHU, SEHK: 0762, and SHSE: 600050) is a little quiet. Chang Xiaobing, chairman of China Unicom, disclosed that the timetable for the launch of China Unicom-customized iPhone5 in mainland China was not determined since the product had to get network access permit from the telecom department of the MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) first.
