String of car break-ins reported at Rock Hill restaurantsROCK HILL, Nov 27, 2012 (The Herald (Rock Hill - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Four car break-ins were reported at two Rock Hill restaurants just off Interstate-77 Monday night, police say. Police were first called to Amber Buffet & Hibachi on Dave Lyle Boulevard at 6 p.m., where a Texas man, 39, said someone broke the back window of his rented SUV and stole his suitcase and briefcase, according to a Rock Hill police report. The briefcase carried his laptop, and his suitcase was filled with $600 worth of clothes and $100 worth of medication. The car belongs to Avis Car Rental in Tulsa, Okla., the report states. Nearly 10 minutes later, a 44-year-old North Carolina woman dining at the same restaurant told police someone broke the passenger window of a rental car. The vandal stole her backpack, iPod and cell phone. Surveillance video of the parking lot was not available. More than an hour later, police spoke with a 56-year-old Chester man who said that, after eating at Outback Steakhouse on River Run Court, he realized his Kia Sportage's passenger window was shattered. His wallet was missing, along with a bag filled with Christmas decorations. His car could not been seen on the restaurant's surveillance video because of the camera's angle. Sometime after 8 p.m., a Richburg man, 34, told police someone broke the passenger window of his pickup truck while he ate at Outback Steakhouse, another report states. Someone stole $200 worth of valuables, including his black backpack, filled with his work keys, work ID and a computer cable.
