College Summit Names Stephen Sagner Co-President and Chief Strategy Officer


WASHINGTON --(Business Wire)--

College Summit announced today that Stephen Sagner, a long-time nonprofit executive with a proven record of development and programming success, will join the college and career readiness organization as Co-President and Chief Strategy Officer effective immediately. Formerly Senior Vice President, Foundation and Corporate Relations at Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), Sagner will report to J.B. Schramm, College Summit's Chief Executive Officer.

Jo Smith, Chief Operating Officer of College Summit since 2011, will retain that title and has been named the organization's other Co-President. She will work alongside Sagner and continue to report to Schramm.

In addition to his work at LISC, Sagner previously was Director of Development for New York University's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School for Public Service and Dean for Development for New York University's Steinhardt School for Culture, Education, and Human Development. He began his career at Good Shepherd Services, a renowned New York City community organization, for which he ran a New York State-funded college prep program for at-risk students at a public high school in Brooklyn, and later served as Director of Programs & Contracts. He earned a BA from Columbia University and an MPA in public finance from NYU Wagner.
