Containing the Fallout from Risk -- Market Leaders Create Executive Supply Network Risk Forum

ATLANTA, Nov. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Genesis Management, LLC (Genesis), a market leader in Global Cost Reductions strategy through optimization of supply chain activities and business operations, and Firestorm®, a national leader in business continuity, vulnerability analysis, risk mitigation and crisis management, announced this week the second installment of the Executive Supply Network Risk Forum to be launched on February 19, 2013. As a precursor to the forum, the companies will co-host two Forum webinars in December to summarize the inaugural meeting held in October.

John P. Campi, Managing Partner Genesis Management, and recognized expert and supply chain thought leader: "The race to cost effectiveness has ignored the cost of complexity; the most obvious example is through the continuing globalization of supply networks. Companies today no longer own the majority of their supply network. These new, complex global networks, logistics infrastructure, and unaffiliated ownerships have created an expanding complex risk/value profile. This transformation demands a new approach to measuring risk inherent within the supply network architecture. We have seen this risk clearly demonstrated with hurricane Sandy, and its impact on the global supply network." The creation of the Forum follows a comprehensive survey conducted by the two organizations and discussed with an elite group of participants in October, 2012. The survey results covered a broad spectrum of business activity and industries and focused on key challenges facing supply chain executives. Results from the survey showed that a company's supply network is the source of well over half of all business crises and disruptions.

"Our survey and discussion group focused on practical solutions and will address the Risk, Tools and Metrics required for a comprehensive 'best practice' supply network risk assessment," said Firestorm's President and COO Jim Satterfield. "More important, we urge participants to assess not ROI, but instead to focus on ROnI - the Return on No Investment. Our Forum participants will have the first advantage to these risk mitigation tools as they develop." The one hour webinars will be conducted on December 6, 2012 and December 12, 2012.
