BRIEF: Lexington police seek public's help to identify bank robber

Nov 26, 2012 (Lexington Herald-Leader - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Police sought the public's help identifying a man who took money from a bank in Lexington Monday afternoon.

The man walked into the Chase Bank in the Eastland Shopping Center on Winchester Road and handed a note to the teller asking for money.

The man did not show a weapon and the note did not imply he had one, police said. The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robbery happened about 2:19 p.m. Police later released surveillance photos that show a man in a dark coat and toboggan, glasses, blue jeans and white shoes placing a note on the counter in front of a female teller.

Several customers were in the bank at the time, but no one realized what was going on, Lexington police Lt. Dean Marcum said. No one was hurt.
