ASPIDER selects F5 Networks' Traffix SDC Diameter solutionNov 26, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- ASPIDER, a mobile virtual network enabler, or MVNE, has selected the F5 Networks' Traffix Signaling Delivery Controller, or SDC, Diameter solution to help manage mobile virtual network operator, or MVNO, wholesale solutions for their Tier 1 carrier clients. The F5 Traffix SDC enables both the routing of the billing message and the translation between the various protocols involved. Every time a subscriber of the carrier's MVNO customer sends an SMS or MMS message, the related billing charges are routed to the ASPIDER Online Charging System via the F5 Traffix SDC. In this deployment, the SDC routes from multiple vendors' core systems and supports Diameter and SCAP interconnectivity. The F5 Traffix SDC is a diameter solution that combines intelligent, context-aware signaling with a Diameter router, load balancer, and gateway. This provides simplified control, scalability, and connectivity so that networks can support subscribers' heavy and growing use of mobile broadband data. The F5 Traffix SDC Diameter Gateway offers instant and cost-effective, any-to-any connectivity between diameter-based interfaces and systems that use legacy signaling protocols. With connectivity between all diameter network elements, legacy network elements, and an unlimited variety of third-party vendors, MVNOs, roaming partners, and service providers have an easy migration path with opportunities to pursue alternative business models and introduce additional revenue sources.
