Target employee faces charges for organized retail theft


Nov 21, 2012 (Cleburne Times-Review - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Burleson police arrested a Target employee on Saturday after she tried to help two friends steal about $500 in merchandise from the store.

Kelly Marie Oldner, 26, was arrested for organized retail theft at 9:45 p.m. Saturday at Target in the 200 block of Northwest John Jones Drive.

The caller advised police that an employee was being detained by Loss Prevention for fraudulent marking down of prices on items without supervisor approval.

Oldner allegedly discounted items that were not meant to be on sale and failed to ring up certain items through the register for her friends, identified as Chris and Charlotte Campos.

The organized theft included $495 of merchandise, made up of shag rugs, an eight-piece comforter set, socks, slippers, throw blankets, a vacuum cleaner, bath mats, several DVDs and a DVD player.

Arrest and incident reports At 5:42 a.m. Sunday, police received a call from the 900 block of Edgehill Road. Someone stole a cellphone, phone charger and universal charger from a gold 2003 Saturn Ion. The items were valued at $135.

Officers responded to a call at 2:40 p.m. that same day for harassment by threats in the 300 block of Northwest Lorna Street.

Someone stole a Kenwood in-dash navigation system from a white 2003 Ford F-350 in the 1100 block of North Burleson Boulevard at 3:17 p.m. later that day.

At 12:50 a.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to the 200 block of Northwest Renfro Street for an intoxicated person. The caller said he observed a silver Volvo vehicle pull beside him and bounce off a curb, then pull into QuikTrip.

The caller stayed on the line and said they observed the driver stagger into the store. The caller observed the woman come out of the store, get back in her vehicle and leave.

Police matched the description the caller provided and both the caller and police observed the driver continuing to swerve. Officer initiated a stop when she changed lanes without signaling she was going to do so.

The driver, 35-year-old Margaret Elise Mealor, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Her vehicle had a strong odor of alcoholic beverages, her eyes were bloodshot and watery and she had slurred speech and a hard time getting her driver's license out of her wallet, according to the arrest report.



At 4:44 a.m. that same day, Omar Lopez, 19, was arrested for possession of marijuana and driving while intoxicated in the 3300 block of South Burleson Boulevard.

At 9:05 a.m. later that day, police responded to a criminal mischief call in the 600 block of Fairway View Drive. Someone damaged a gray 2012 Ford Fusion.


At 10:22 a.m. that same morning, someone stole a $550 cell phone from a Sprint United Cellular store in the 1300 block of Southwest Wilshire Boulevard.

Officers received a theft call from the 200 block of South Hurst Road at 5:17 p.m. that same day. Someone stole a wedding set, including three bands and diamonds. The loss was estimated at $4,750.

Police received a call at 1:08 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of Northwest Newton Drive. Someone stole a Taurus 9 mm pistol, a lawn mower, a weed eater, decorative art work, a Texas rustic fire pit with mesh cover, damaged a sofa and Lazy Susan, stole a mounted deer head and damaged the carpet and drywall.

The offenses included theft of a firearm from a building, theft from $50-$500 and criminal mischief of $50-$1,500.

At 8:39 a.m. that same day, police responded to a theft call from the 3900 block of South Interstate 35. Someone stole $1,200 worth of Goodyear tires from a yellow 2012 Cascadia tractor-trailer.

At 11:55 a.m. that same day, police responded to a theft call at Burleson High School. A student reported a stolen Apple iPhone 4S, valued at $400.

Police arrested 26-year-old Desiree Delbosque at 1:04 a.m. Thursday in the 1200 block of Sweetwater Drive after noticing a car violating parking rules. The car turned out to be occupied by Delbosque and Alejandro Guerrero, 20, of Arlington. Marijuana was found inside the vehicle and both were arrested for possession of marijuana.

At 5:59 p.m. that same day, officers responded to a report of shoplifting at Walmart in the 900 block of Southwest Wilshire Boulevard. Lakeem Shabazz Ayro, 21, was arrested for shoplifting after he was detained. He was seen selecting three boxes of Crest WhiteStrips valued at $147.91 total and concealed them in his pants. He then left the store without paying.

At 5:26 p.m. Nov. 14, officers responded to a burglary of building call at a rental storage facility in the 200 block of Exchange Street. Someone stole a Maytag washer and dryer, each valued at $800.
