The invisible asset is worth $A3bn, and is highly valuable to telcos and other companies reliant on electronic signals. The 700MHz is the most valuable spectrum, as it carries signals farther and longer. This is the signal that telcos with 4G mobile telephone services rely heavily upon. The Government will use the proceeds of the sale to help it achieve a Budget surplus.
