Advantech introduces new ATX motherboard

Nov 19, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Advantech Co., Ltd., a company engaged in the manufacturing, assembling and distribution of computers and related accessories, has introduced a new industrial-grade ATX motherboard, the AIMB-701, which supports 2nd and 3rd generation Intel Core i7/i5/i3/Pentium processors.

AIMB-701 is designed around the Intel H61 PCH chipset, and supports 4 SATAII ports with transmission speed up to 300 MB/s, and 10 USB 2.0 ports. It also has one PCIe x16 slot for a higher bandwidth graphic card, five PCI slots for industrial legacy devices, and up to 6 on-board serial ports on the G2 version.

One of the six serial ports supports RS232/422/485 with hardware auto flow control to fulfill industrial application demands. Besides expandability, AIMB-701 is equipped with dual PCI Express based Intel 82579V and 82583V Gigabit Ethernet ports delivering up to 1000 Mbps of bandwidth for network-intensive applications.

AIMB-701 supports 2nd/3rd gen Intel Core i processor integrated Intel HD Graphics. Compared to the 2nd gen Intel Core processor family, the 3rd gen processor delivers up to ~15% more CPU performance, up to ~50% better 3D graphics performance and up to 1.8x transcode speed. This means AIMB-701 with 3rd generation Core i processor is better suited for graphics intensive applications.

The Features include: Supports 2nd/3rd Intel Core i7/i5/i3/Pentium processor with up to 8MB L3 cache with H61 chipset, Two DIMM sockets support up to 16 GB DDR3 1066/1333/1600, Intel Dynamic Video Memory Technology supports 1GB maximum shared memory when 2 GB above system memory installed, Supports RS232/422/485 with auto flow control, Supports one PCIe x16 and 5 PCI expansion slots, Supports dual display of VGA and DVI and dual GbE LAN, Supports four SATAII ports and ten USB 2.0 ports.
