ZNYX Increases Product Portfolio for Military, Aerospace, Telecom and Energy Applications Through Diversified Technology Asset Acquisition

Nov 19, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- ZNYX, a company focusing on high-density solution enabling platforms for carrier-grade and mission critical environments, announced that it will now manufacture and service Diversified Technology, Inc. (DTI) CompactPCI switch and CPU blade products.

According to a release, this strategic move extends ZNYX value as a provider of CompactPCI and AdvancedTCA (ATCA) platforms for the mil/aero, telecom and energy industries. In addition, key engineering, sales and management personnel from DTI have joined ZNYX to provide leadership to ensure a seamless transition for current DTI customers.

Complementing the company's existing networking and compute product lines, ZNYX will begin manufacturing DTI's CSB4624 product switch family, as well as the CPB4912, CPB4811, CPB4812, and CPB4612 CPU blade products to enable current DTI customers to safeguard supply chain longevity. Current DTI customers will be able to transition to ZNYX support services and management for uninterrupted operation.

"There's a natural synergy between the current ZNYX switch and CPU blade product portfolio, and DTI's blade and switch products that will strengthen the ZNYX value proposition to military, aerospace and energy industries," said Connie Austin, president and CEO of ZNYX Networks. "As a result of this acquisition, ZNYX is better positioned to address our customers' growing demands for high performance, low power solutions. We look forward to working with our new engineering and sales team from DTI to further leverage and expand our combined offerings, and continue to provide exceptional quality and support for our customers." Leading CompactPCI Switch and Processor Technologies DTI's CSB4624 6U, PICMG 2.16 CompactPCI switch provides fully managed L2/L3 switching and routing capabilities to high-bandwidth applications. The CSB4624 provides the backbone to any CompactPCI implementation by delivering 24 ports of auto-negotiating 1G Ethernet, and improving performance and versatility for services.

A choice for application developers requiring high performance with low power for telecom and Internet IP-based applications, the CPB4612 with Pentium processors, CPB4812 and CPB4811 with Intel Core 2 Duo processors, and CPB4912 with Intel Core i7 processors. These PICMG 2.16-compliant packet switched backplane (PSB) processor blades are ideal foundations for VPN CPU, media gateways, 2.5G/3G wireless, server clusters, IP DSLAM, and voice/video/data servers.

Bringing a wealth of experience in product engineering, business development and customer support, a team from DTI has joined ZNYX. They include Keith Varner, director technical services and business development; Aubrey Matthews, business development manager, Elmer Durrell, III, senior technical services and engineering manager; and Patrick Welzien, senior technical services and software engineering manager. They will continue to operate out of the newly established ZNYX office in Ridgeland, Mississippi.

Previously, Varner oversaw engineering for embedded computing, federal programs and alternative energy products. Matthews handled sales of major accounts within the telecommunications, mil/aero and commercial sectors. Durrell managed hardware development, product feature requirements and product specifications, while Welzien managed development of the application code for the FastPath based Ethernet switch, BIOS/IPMI code, and microcontroller firmware.
