HP signs further contract with Veterans Affairs to support VistA system


Nov 16, 2012 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- Technology company HP (NYSE:HPQ) said today that it has agreed a renewed contract with the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to continue providing operations and maintenance software applications support for its Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA).



This new five-year contract extends HP's 10-year involvement with the VistA system and is valued at USD39m.

The VistA system provides 130 VA healthcare facilities and 783 ambulatory care and community-based outpatient clinics with a fully automated health information system that supports the needs of veterans, clinicians and administrators.


As part of the contract HP will provide defect remediation and table maintenance for more than 100 applications across the VA network.
