Dr. Mung Chiang Joins TMMI Advisory Board

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE, Nov 16, 2012 (Marketwire via COMTEX) -- TMM, Inc. (PINKSHEETS:TMMI) ("TMMI") or (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Mung Chiang to its advisory board, effective November 1st, 2012.

Mung Chiang, PhD, is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Princeton University, and has served as the Director of Graduate Studies in Electrical Engineering since 2009. He is also an affiliated faculty in Applied and Computational Mathematics, and in Computer Science.

Dr. Chiang is a leader in studying the structure and dynamics of digital and wireless communications networks, such as cell phone networks and the Internet. The field of "network science" has advanced rapidly in recent decades as researchers have discovered fundamental mathematical properties that are common to many types of networks.

Chiang's research areas include the Internet, wireless networks, broadband access networks, content distribution networks, network economics, and online social networks. His research on networking received awards such as the IEEE Kiyo Tomiyasu Award in 2012 "for demonstrating the practicality of a new theoretical foundation for the analysis and design of communication networks"; the U.S. Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers in 2008 "for fundamental contributions to optimization, distributed algorithm and stochastic analysis of communication networks"; the Office of Naval Research Young Investigator Award in 2007, the National Science Foundation CAREER Award in 2005; a selected participant at the National Academy of Engineering Frontiers of Engineering Symposium in 2008.

He has received numerous other awards for publications, including the 2012 IEEE INFOCOM Best Paper Award; an ISI Citation Fast Breaking Paper in Computer Science; a Young Researcher Award Runner-Up in Continuous Optimization over 2004-2007; and IEEE GLOBECOM. In recent decades, the field of "network science" has advanced rapidly as researchers have discovered fundamental mathematical properties that are common to many types of networks.

With his extensive knowledge of video content delivery systems, he will be a key contributor to the formation of TMM, Inc.'s business plan. He has seen TRUDEF(TM) codec compression and decompression of digital video in which high image quality with small file size show huge potential financial benefit to content delivery providers.

Dr, Chiang received his BS (Hons.), MS, and PhD degrees from Stanford University in 1999, 2000, and 2003, respectively. He was an Assistant Professor 2003-2008 and a tenured Associate Professor 2008-2011 at Princeton. He was a Hertz Fellow in 1999-2003, a H. B. Wentz Junior Faculty at Princeton in 2005, and was elected an IEEE Fellow in 2012.
