ComputeNext Reaches Major Milestone for Federated Clouds - 10+ IaaS Providers Live in their Multi-Cloud Marketplace

Bellevue, WA, Nov 15, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Through federation ComputeNext has unveiled the IaaS service catalog from over 10 cloud service providers spanning almost 20 distinct geographies, and exposed those services to a global audience through their multi-cloud marketplace. This has enabled consumers of cloud infrastructure and services to search, discover, and utilize cloud IaaS in a competitive setting with more choice and data found anywhere else.

With the addition of Joyent, Dimension Data (formerly OpSource), and Softlayer clouds to their multi-cloud marketplace in the month of October, ComputeNext is continuing to bolster their inventory in order to give cloud consumers a single sign-on portal containing choice in cloud infrastructure. The newest selection of cloud service providers is a notable group, as each has been recently recognized by Gartner in their annual Magic Quadrant for Public Cloud IaaS.

When asked how he felt about the latest additions to the marketplace, CEO Sundar Kannan said, "We're always excited to increase the amount of choice available to our end-users," going on further to address Dimension Data, Joyent, and Softlayer specifically he makes note that, "...to onboard a trio of service providers that Gartner has named 'Leaders', 'Challengers', and 'Niche Players' in the public cloud market solidifies the need for federation across all platforms, and the need of real and tangible choice and discoverability in public cloud IaaS." Prospective consumers of cloud IaaS for hybrid or public cloud deployments are able to define their requirements through a dashboard GUI, API, and soon through jClouds connectivity without requiring accounts already set up at their target clouds. As a proponent of single sign-on access to multi-cloud resources ComputeNext has abstracted API key and account management as well as the cloud platform API layer in order to facilitate cloud IaaS discovery and consumption through the marketplace.
