KPMG Launches New Training Service To Meet Accounting And Finance Training Needs Of Businesses: KPMG Learning

NEW YORK, Nov. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm, launched a comprehensive training and continuing professional education (CPE) service today, KPMG Learning, to meet the growing need for corporate training-related services in an increasingly complex financial services regulatory environment.

KPMG Learning will provide a broad range of accounting and financial reporting, expanding from the well-known and highly respected seminars offered by Executive Education and live webcasts offered through the KPMG Institutes, to newly developed web-based courses, private classes and customized training and related services.

"We see every day that evolving accounting standards and regulations are placing greater demands on our clients and other enterprises to ensure that key staff members are up-to-date on the latest trends and issues," said Tom Duffy, national managing partner of KPMG's Audit practice. "We believe that KPMG Learning, through its diverse selection of training modules, provides companies with a range of programs tailored to meet those demands effectively and efficiently." The KPMG Learning announcement follows on the heels of KPMG's 2012 Human Capital and Learning Survey which invited more than 100 directors in human resources, accounting, and finance to offer insights on how companies might increase the value of human capital through improved training programs. The survey revealed that less than a quarter of respondents said they were confident in the effectiveness of current financial reporting training programs offered to their employees.

"We understand that companies are focused on keeping their employees current and compliant with regard to professional standards, while working within constrained training budgets," said Duffy. "This new service demonstrates KPMG's commitment to providing financial and accounting professionals with timely, strategic, and streamlined approaches to learning and development that accommodate their needs."
