BRIEF: Iowa City school district to hold meetings on special election

Nov 13, 2012 (The Gazette - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The Iowa City school district is holding two public meetings in the coming weeks to talk about a Feb. 5 special election.

Voters are being asked to approve a new revenue purpose statement so that the district can borrow from future sales tax revenue. The money would help construct new schools and additions to current buildings.

The first meeting is from 7 to 8 p.m. Nov. 19 and City High School. The other is 7 to 8 p.m. Dec. 3 at West High school. Superintendent Stephen Murley will lead the discussion at both meetings.
