BRIEF: Chip Kelly on USC deflating game balls: 'It's got nothing to do with us'EUGENE, Nov 08, 2012 (The Oregonian - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- USC deflated its game balls against the Ducks Chip Kelly didn't notice it during the game Saturday and didn't care about it after practice Thursday, a day after a USC student manager was fired for admitting to deflating the balls. "My thought on that is real simple: It's got nothing to do with us," Kelly said. "We worry about what we can control. ... What another team does or doesn't do, I don't really know. But it doesn't affect us. They can do whatever they want. It's not a big deal to us." Asked if deflated balls could present difficulty for a defense, Kelly said: "The difficulty in the game was No. 9 (Marqise Lee) and No. 2 (Robert Woods). I'm not concerned with that at all. That's their issue, not our issue." Kelly was then asked if he'd heard of a team deflating balls before. "I don't know. I guess maybe (it could help) guys with smaller hands or whatever, but I don't know," he said. "Again, it doesn't have anything to do with us, so it's not a concern."
