Early voting hours were extended until 5 p.m. on Saturday after thieves stole copper from the heating and air conditioning units Friday night at the Charles Riddle Staff Development Center, Anson County's early voting site. The thieves also cut the center's Internet lines. As of Sunday, a reported 6,310 Anson County citizens had participated in early voting, which surpasses the record number of early voters in the 2008 general election, 5,600.
