See Sacramento city council, ballot measure results by neighborhood

Nov 07, 2012 (The Sacramento Bee - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Several races in the city of Sacramento were competitive Tuesday including two city council races that are still too close to call.

This map shows, by precinct, the results of key Sacramento city races.

Zoom to address: Measure T (Require green waste containers) Measure U (Increase sales tax) Council district two Council district four In Council District Two, Allen Warren drew his strongest support from the middle of the district, including the neighborhoods of Del Paso Heights, Norwood and Johnson Heights. Rob Kerth beat Warren on the north and south ends of the district, including the neighborhoods of Robla and Woodlake.

In Council District Four, Joseph Yee won all the neighborhoods in the south end of the district, including Land Park and South Land Park. Steve Hansen carried the north end of the district, including downtown and midtown.

Both races were too close to call Wednesday.

A narrow margin voted to give the city council the authority to require green bins, instead of letting residents dump green waste on the road to be picked up by a mechanical claw. Residents of North Sacramento and Land Park wanted to keep The Claw, while residents of Natomas and Oak Park were in favor of ditching it.

A city measure to increase sales taxes passed overwhelmingly, drawing opposition in only a few pockets of East Sacramento and Land Park.
