BRIEF: Book Nook burglarized second time in 11 days

Oct 04, 2012 (The Salina Journal - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- For the second time in 11 days, The Book Nook, at 147 S. Fourth, was burglarized and is missing two computers, and $20 in cash.

Between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, someone entered the business through an adjacent warehouse owned by Abner Perney and took a new eMachine computer and a used Dell computer, said Lt. Scott Siemsen, of the Salina Police Department.

A red, limited edition Felt Belgium Brewery Cruiser bicycle belonging to Perney was taken from the warehouse. The bicycle was No. 468 made out of 900, Siemsen said.

The combined loss was estimated at $1,050. Entry to the warehouse may have been gained through an overhead door, Siemsen said. Entry to the Book Nook was through a doorway that was forced open, Siemsen said.

A computer taken from the Book Nook Sept. 23 hasn't been recovered.
