Powerit Solutions Named One of the Globe's Top Cleantech Companies

SEATTLE --(Business Wire)--

The Global Cleantech 100 list of the world's most promising cleantech companies is out, and Powerit Solutions is on it for a second time. Developed by the Cleantech Group and in its fourth year, the competition received 8,285 nominations for 5,117 companies from 85 countries. Powerit Solutions also appeared on the list in 2009.

Says Kevin Klustner, CEO of Powerit Solutions: "It's exciting to again appear on this elite list. Our pioneering role in connecting the industrial sector with the smart grid is something we're very proud of."

"Powerit is setting the demand management standard, and this honor speaks to our groundbreaking work in the automated demand management space," Klustner continues. "We're also very energized, as well, by our ongoing work with key players in the industrial automation, building control, and smart grid arenas. Our technology's market impact is growing and our techology's promise is being unleashed."

Powerit Solutions appears in the Global Cleantech 100's Energy Efficiency sector within the Enterprise Energy Management subsection. The Cleantech Group's report notes that Energy Efficiency "remains the hottest and growing sector within cleantech."

About the Global Cleantech 100 List

According to the Cleantech Group, the list of 100 cleantech companies from 13 countries represents "the most innovative and promising ideas" in the clean technology field and those companies that are "best positioned to solve tomorrow's clean technology challenges." The companies were selected based on the Cleantech Group's research data and input from a 75-member expert panel. According to the Cleantech Group's blog, the list's chief goal is to identify "the private cleantech companies most likely to make a significant market impact over the next five to ten years."

To qualify for the Global Cleantech 100, companies must be independent, for-profit, cleantech companies not listed on any major stock exchange.
