US group seeks to sue three Murdochs

Sep 19, 2012 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- News Corporation shareholders are seeking approval from a Delaware court to hold Rupert Murdoch and his sons, James and Lachlan Murdoch, personally liable for the UK telephone hacking scandals. The shareholders, which include the US-based Amalgamated Bank and the Central Laborers' Pension Funds, claim that the media group's board neglected its fiduciary duties by dismissing warnings about phone hacking and used the company as a "family candy jar".
