Government and Manufacturing Customers Select Vordel's API Server

Jul 30, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Vordel, an API Server provider that connects business, mobile and cloud, has announced new competitive wins for the recently announced Vordel API Server, a unified platform for API management.

According to the Company, these new customers in the U.S. federal government and European manufacturing sector selected the Vordel API Server due to its ability to scale an API deployment in an elastic fashion, its overall ease-of-use and its API-based integration with other products including SAP, Oracle, and CA SiteMinder among others.

Launched in June, the Vordel API Server is an enterprise-ready, unified platform to manage, deliver and secure APIs to cloud and mobile channels. Vordel said it encapsulates capabilities from the Company's application gateway, cloud services broker, and API management technologies into a unified API operating platform.

The Company noted that one commonality in the recent customer wins is how diverse organizations ranging from manufacturing to government are using the Vordel API Server for managing mission critical logistical systems. These customers are either using Vordel as part of a SAP system or using it with their own supply chain, with integration across global locations.

For example, a Vordel customer responsible for managing SAP deployments for a U.S. government organization required the ability to manage the transfer of data between Oracle and SAP systems, while also conforming to policies in CA SiteMinder. Vordel said that this organization chose its API Server because of its demonstrated API-based integration with SAP, Oracle, and CA Systems, and its ability to handle highly sensitive and time-critical procurement and tracking information.

The Company added that another Vordel customer, a manufacturing business required the ability to manage its global logistics supply chain across multiple geographies including Brazil, Europe, and Hong Kong, as well as through diverse systems including IBM WebSphere MQ and Microsoft Active Directory. The manufacturing business selected the Vordel API server for its API-based integration with the IBM and Microsoft systems it used, as well as its ease-of-use advantages compared to the competition.

Vic Morris, Vordel CEO, said, "The Vordel API Server was launched a month ago, and we're excited by such immediate and positive customer reaction. Today, enterprises need a solution offering both security and high performance API delivery to enable the roll-out of cloud and mobile strategies to their partners and customers alike. Of note, these recent significant wins have been in industry sectors characterized by the need for reliability and performance. These early wins are testimony to the value the Vordel API server delivers to customers, and reflects our strategic vision of enabling enterprises to achieve their long term goals of effective API management today rather than in the future."
