No tap-and-go for Android phonesMay 28, 2012 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Google is setting the standards for the Android operating system on smartphones that is the main rival to Apple's iPhone product range. However, Commonwealth Bank of Australia says Google is too liberal, and the Android version of the bank's Kaching payments software will not be able to feature contactless transactions already possible on the iPhone. The latter also still needs a special case for the handset however that contains a chip designed for the new near-field communications technology.
