DENVER --(Business Wire)--
On Saturday, April 21, more than 4,000 local Comcast (News - Alert) employees and their
families and friends will volunteer their time toward 21 Colorado
nonprofits as part of Comcast's annual "Comcast Cares Day."
Since its inception in 2001, Comcast Cares Day has become one of the
largest single days of corporate volunteering in the country. More than
67,000 Comcast volunteers will participate in this annual day of service.
During the day of service, Comcast employees in the Colorado area will
take part in a variety of volunteer efforts across the state from
installing energy-saving items to cleaning up the South Platte River.
Over the previous 10 Comcast Cares Days, volunteers have dedicated more
than 2.1 million hours of service. Comcast has also contributed more
than $10.5 million in grants to organizations nationwide. Comcast Cares
Day is one way that Comcast helps to power dreams and demonstrate a
year-round commitment to making a difference in the communities it
serves.
"Since the inception of Comcast Cares Day in 2001, more than 360,000
Comcast employees, their families and friends have contributed their
valuable time to the communities where they live and work," said Rich
Jennings, Comcast Regional Vice President. "Today, we will surpass 2.5
million total hours of service. Comcast Cares Day is about coming
together to have a positive impact on our communities, and I am truly
proud to join my fellow employees as we continue in that mission."
"We're so honored to partner with 21 great Colorado nonprofits to work
together to improve Colorado during our 11th Comcast Cares
Day," Jennings added. "I'm grateful to the 4,290 volunteers who will be
donating their time to help make such a big difference in the lives of
others."
The Comcast Foundation will also provide grants to local community
partner organizations across the country on behalf of each employee and
family member who volunteers on Comcast Cares Day. The grants will help
