Top Xstrata adviser fined in UK


Apr 04, 2012 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Investment banker Ian Hannam has been fined Stg450,000 ($A690,000) for revealing inside information on a company to which he was providing advice. The JP Morgan banker has not been accused by the UK regulator of disclosing the information for personal gain. Hannam has provided consultancy services to mining group Xstrata. While Hannam is reportedly planning to resign, he intends to fight the ruling.
