Erik Mettala Joins eCrypt's Board of Directors

eCrypt Technologies announced retired Lt. Col. Erik Mettala has joined its Board of Directors.

Mettala served with the Department of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and the Army Communications and Electronics Command.
Mettala was the Chief Scientist in SPARTA's National Security Systems Sector, responsible for the strategic technology planning and research for SPARTA's intelligence, computer network operations, and information assurance business areas.
Mettala led McAfee Research, which was acquired by SPARTA. As the Vice President and Director of McAfee Research he managed the strategic technology research for McAfee, including R&D business development and laboratory efforts.
Prior to joining McAfee, Mettala served as the President of Advanced Coordination Technologies providing secure system integration technologies in complex manufacturing and health care markets. Prior to ACT, he served as the Chief Technology Officer of Elagent Corporation providing enterprise management and security systems integration.
Mettala was also the Chief Technical Officer at the Microelectronics and Computer Technology Corporation.
He served as Associate Dean of Engineering for Research, and Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington.
