Karmasphere Joins Hortonworks to Further Big Data Analytics on Hadoop

CUPERTINO, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Karmasphere™, a Big Data Intelligence company, today announced it joined the Hortonworks Technology Partner Program to offer Karmasphere Analytics on the Hortonworks Data Platform powered by Apache Hadoop. Designed to accelerate the adoption of Apache Hadoop, the Hortonworks Data Platform provides an open and stable foundation for enterprises and a growing ecosystem to build and deploy big data solutions. Hortonworks will provide Karmasphere access to technical enablement, technical support, training and certification offerings to further the ubiquity of Apache Hadoop. As an innovative leader in Big Data Analytics for Hadoop, Karmasphere will collaborate with Hortonworks to streamline deriving Big Data Intelligence from Hadoop.

"Apache Hadoop is clearly the platform of choice for mining large amounts of unstructured data to obtain business insights not achievable before," said Gail Ennis, CEO, Karmasphere. "By supporting the Hortonworks Data Platform and accessing the services and support Hortonworks provides through their Technology Partner Program, we continue our momentum helping organizations transform their business with Big Data."

"Apache Hadoop has rapidly become the de facto platform for storing, processing and managing the rapidly increasing volumes of unstructured data," said Eric Baldeschwieler, CEO of Hortonworks. "We are excited to be working closely with Karmasphere to extend the value of Apache Hadoop in delivering meaningful intelligence to a broader set of business analytics users."

The Karmasphere Big Data Analytics product line includes Karmasphere Analyst, which provides data analysts immediate entry to structured and unstructured data on Hadoop, through SQL and other familiar languages, so that they can make ad-hoc queries, interact with the results, and iterate - without the aid of IT. Karmasphere Studio provides developers that support analytic teams a graphical environment to learn Hadoop, develop custom analytic algorithms and systematize the creation of meaningful datasets the analysts find so that their results can be integrated into business processes and applications.
